On the motion of MOSES CLAYTON he is appointed Constable in
this County for the (6th district) Whereupon he took the nec-
essary Oaths required by Law &c. and entered into and ackd.
bond with JOHN BEARDEN and JAMES COOK his Securities in the
Penal Sum of $500. Conditioned according to Law.
NANCY REYNOLDS Executrix named in the Last Will and testament
of EDWARD REYNOLDS Decd. produced the will of the said Decedent
into Court and it being proven in open Court by the oath of
GEORGE LAMB, DANIEL YOUNG and WILLIAM REAVES Subscribing
Witnesses thereto, on her motion is ordered to be Recorded.
NANCY REYNOLDS Widow and Relict of EDWARD REYNOLDS came into
Court and Renounced the provisions made her? in the last will
and Testament of her husband the afd. EDWARD REYNOLDS decd.

well County being (8) being present a majority thereof concur
in Recommending to the Governor JAMES MERCER & SAMUEL BOYD as
Proper Persons to be Commissioned as Surveyor of this County.
Ordered that this County be accurately Surveyed and the Centre
thereof ascertained as a Preparatory Requisite for fixing the
Seat of Justice Permanent. All the Justices being Present to-
gether with the Assistant Judges of the Circuit Court & Con-
curing herein.
Ordered that JOHN MERCER and ISAAC BROWN Esqrs draw up Sub-
scription papers and use diligence to procure Subscribers &
obtain money thereby for the purpose of Surveying this County

On a direction to Hopkins Courthouse, and that JOSIAH WHITNELL
Esqr be appointed to Allot the hands to Work on said Road &
Return an allottment to next Court &c.
Ordered that CLABOURN SULLIVANT be appointed Surveyor of the
Saline lick Road as follows. Beginning at JACOB HERRALDs and
to Work to the Christian County line,and that JOSIAH WHITNELL
Esqr be appointed to allott the hands to Work on said Road &c.
Ordered that WILLIAM ASHER be appointed Surveyor on the Saline
Road as follows Beginning at JACOB HERRALDs and to Work to the
ford on Donaldson, and that ISAAC BROWN Esqr be appointed to

On the motion of JOHN SCOTT It is ordered that he be appointed
Capt. of the Patrol in the first District & that NATHANIEL
SULLIVANT, ELIJAH BENNETT, and JACOB DOOM being first Sworn do
patroll as often as may be Necessary in said district.
On the motion of JOHN OHARROW? he is appointed Capt. of the
Patrollers for the Second district and that JOSEPH McMAHON,
ELIJAH G. GILLUSHA, GEORGE GRAY and JACOB E. FALLER (sic)

On the motion of JAMES MURRAY he is appointed Capt. of the

three to act be appointed Commissioners for the purpose of
establishing and perpetuating Testimony on the following
tracts of Seminary lands toWit.Transylvania University 600
acres.The Winchester, Franklin and Montgomery accademies.
Ordered that the Patroll District of Number four be added to
the District of number Seven,and the two compose one district,

District of Number two and that JAMES HOLLY be appointed to

Patroll at least 48 Hours in Each month.
Ordered that this County be laid off into three Districts for
the purpose of appointing Commissioners to Procession lands &c.

Satisfaction of the court that the said HAMMOND is the
proprietor of the land on the South side of the Cumberland
River And the proprietor of the land on the Opposite shore
acknowledgeing legal notice, & not appearing

The Reviewers of a Road leading from a high bluff on Tennes-
see River about 3 miles above what is called the big Island
to Eddyville this day made their report & no objections being
made to the same. It is therefore Ordered that FRANCIS
ROBERTSON be appd. Surveyor of the same and that he with all
the hands living within the following bounds toWit Beginning
at WM. HAMMONDs and meandering the same Down below the Horse
ford & from thence to include JACOB LEWIS on Tennessee from
thence up Tennessee to include old? Mr.? HENRY BATES thence
to Mr.? HUBBS and from thence to mouth long creek & thence
to the Cumberland River & from thence to the Beginning.
