Eighty Fabergé objects from the Collection of King George I of the Hellenes will be under the hammer at Christie's in London on January 24 - 25, 2007.

Moscow Kremlin Egg will be on view at the Edo Museum in Tokyo.

March 20, 2007 (new opening date) – March 2012
Gray Collection of Fabergé, formerly at the New Orleans Museum of Art, will open at the
Cheekwood Botanical Garden and Museum of Art in Nashville, Tennessee, for a period of five years.

Fall 2008
Scheduled opening date for the Fabergé Museum in the Hermitage Museum, St. Petersburg, Russia.  Slavia Books anticipates publishing a Russian edition of the 2004 Fabergé Flowers book. Individuals wishing to donate Fabergé books and exhibition catalogs for this museum library may contact the editor of this newsletter.

Publications

New York Fabergé dealer A La Vieille Russie has once again published an attractive catalog of its objets d’art for sale and so commemorated 155 years of the existence of its family business. They will have a booth at 53rd Annual Winter Antiques Show (January 19-28, 2007) in New York.

Carl Fabergé, Goldsmith to the Tsar (1997) by Welander-Berggren is out of print in English; Swedish language editions are available from the Nationalmuseum in Stockholm.

Recent Discoveries

A new column entitled Recent Discoveries is being inaugurated on the Fabergé Research Site with this issue of the newsletter. Readers are encouraged to submit items of interest. Featured this month is a Fabergé urn located in the Board Room of the New York Stock Exchange. Our thanks to Susan Johnson for sharing this interesting discovery.

Sotheby’s auction house archives its Fabergé objects with descriptions and prices realized. A simple free registration procedure is required to access the Sold Lot Archive.

London Fabergé dealer Wartski has an archive of some of their recent Fabergé pieces on their website.

Corrections and news about future Fabergé happenings, including exhibitions, is very much appreciated and will be shared.
