The 1996 Signee's

    I have the updated sizes on all our signee's from the Athletic Department.

  1. Kenny Smith- DE 6-7 260 4.7 , N. Jackson, Alabama. Had 110 tackles 52 for losses and 22 sacks. Still needs to qualify. Picked Bama over UT, Notre Dame and Penn State.

  2. Adam Joiner- OL/TE 6-3 260 4.8 Milton, Florida. Had 19 catches for 394 yds. Wil red-shirt. picked Bama over UF, AU and Clemson.

  3. Paul Hogan- Center 6-3 260 5.1 Valdosta, Georgia. Plans to bulk up to about 270. Rated the 51 propsect in Deep SOuth by SuperPrep. Will red-shirt. Has already qualified. Picked Bama over Georgia, Valdosta State and Ga Tech.

  4. Michael Myers- DL 6-3 270 4.8. Rated the number 1 Juco player in America by SuperPrep.19 sacks in '94. He will probably be a starter immediately. Picked Bama over AU, LSU UT and Okla St.

  5. Corey Kinnebrew- OL 6-3 280 4.8. Rome, Georgia. Kinnebrew started the season off at 322 pounds then got down to 280. Had 22 knock downs with a grade of 85%. Has already qualified. Picked Bama over MSU.

  6. Tim Bowens- ATH 6-2 195 4.52 , Killen, Alabama. He has great cutback ability. Had 3 INT's in 95 avg 8 tackles a game. Has already qualified. Will return kicks probally next season. Picked Bama over AU.

  7. Dustin McClintock- FB 6-3 235 4.6 , Quinland, Texas. Had 1,196 yards last season and was named to the 2nd team all-state in Texas. Also had 146 tackles as a LB. Did committ to Purdue then changed it to Bama. .

  8. Jamie Carter- DL 6-4 285 4.9 , Philadelphia, Mississippi. Considered a top 5 player in Miss. Had 80 tackles and 12 sacks in 95. Has a tremendous 1st step very quick off the ball. Picked Bama over UT and Penn ST.

  9. Griff Redmill- DL 6-6 240 5.1 Jasper, Alabama. Had 84 total tackles but will move to the OL. He was hurt last season so he wasn't on any preseason lisits. Originally committed to Ole Miss then changed it to Bama. Picked Bama over Ole Miss.

  10. Kelvis White- OL/DL 6-3 260 5.0 Courtland, Alabama. Kelvis played both way in High school. Was all-state 3 straight years. He picked Bama over Notre Dame, Memphis and Louisville.

  11. Rob-E Staten- LB/FB 6-1 250 4.7. Pearl, Mississippi. Robbie benches 440! He had 140 tackles as a LB and 1,545 yds and 15 TD's as a FB. Robbie's HS coach said Robbie will probally play LB in college. Picked Bama over MSU, Notre Dame and UF.

  12. Gorman Thorton- TE 6-5 250 4.7 Montgomery, Alabama. Had 24 catches for 384 yds and 2 td's last season. He is one of the best blocking TE's around plus he has very soft hands which make him one of the best TE's in the country. Probally won't qualify. Picked Bama over AU.

  13. Heath Panks- DL 6-4 290 5.0 Pearl CC. He was out of Football last year. Hallman has been recruiting him since he was at LSU so this is Hallman's catch. Had 163 total tackles in his Juco days with 20 sacks.

  14. Jason Jones- DB 6-2 200 4.55 Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Pretty much a sleeper type player had a strong Sr season with 9 INT's and 74 tackles. This probally means somebody didn't qualify.
