Christ My Friend

Lyrics By Jay Rinkel and Josh Olive
Copyright 1991 Jay Rinkel

I have a friend I want you to know,
He goes with me wherever I go,
I know that Christ my saviour is near,
When I have a problem I go straight to him,
He guides me each step of the way,
Though my pathway is dim,

He's the Alpha, the Omega,
The Beginning and the End,
He's my one and only saviour,
He's my very dearest friend,

When I walk down an alley,
Of darkness and sin,
I know that Christ my Lord forgives,
All I have to do is go to him and pray,
I tell him that I'm sorry,
He'll put me on the right way,

He's the Alpha, the Omega,
The Beginning and the End,
He's my one and only saviour,
He's my very dearest friend,

Life is tough, Life is long,
I'm not sure where I belong,
In this confusing world of mine,
When I lose my job, I have no place to go,
Christ helps me in my problem,
His path he will show,

He's the Alpha, the Omega,
The Beginning and the End,
He's my one and only saviour,
He's my very dearest friend,

Christians In The Underground

Lyrics by Jay Rinkel and Nathan Jackson
Copyright 1992 Jay Rinkel

We were once relaxed when we had the freedom,
But now we do see the crumbling of the nation,
Here we are meeting in secrecy,
Hoping the law won't find use here,
But worship God we must though we're frightened and shed a tear,

Christians in the underground,
Standing on Holy Ground,
Living in fear all year around,
Christians in the underground,

Did Brother Baker get killed on the way?
To the place where we Christians meet and pray,
Can we stay quiet can we stay bold,
These days we have to dare to spend time in prayer,
Will we die as martyrs -- carried off by guards' cars.

Christians in the underground,
Standing on Holy Ground,
Living in fear all year around,
Christians in the underground,

Why didn't we stand when we had the chance?
What happened to our Christian gang?
Now we hide and hope for our lives,
Will our turmoil ever end?

Christians in the underground,
Standing on Holy Ground,
Living in fear all year around,
Christians in the underground,

Do we hear police cars outside?
Oh no! will they find us this time,
Oh Lord we ask you to save our lives,
But your will be done as we trust Christ your son,
Lord we want to be a light.

Christians in the underground,
Standing on Holy Ground,
Living in fear all year around,
Christians in the underground,

Missionary Jack

Lyrics By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1991,1992 Jay Rinkel

Way out in a far, far land,
With dry air and sifting sand,
There works one of God's great men,
Who wants to serve in God's great plan,

He was Missionary, Missionary, Missionary Jack,
Missionary Missionary Missionary Jack,

Jack lives in Africa,
Telling the People about God's love,
The reactions great and small,
Were not good from them all,

The tribal leader he did say,
Let's get rid of Jack this here day,
The tribe walked out and grabbed him up,
And put him in a big black cup,

He was Missionary, Missionary, Missionary Jack,
Missionary Missionary Missionary Jack,

Jack said hey wait you guys,
Don't you know God will penalize,
When you treat his child in such way,
God'll protect me this here day,

The tribal leader he did say,
No this is not the way,
Put Jack on a wooden stake,
And for desert make chocolate cake,

He was Missionary, Missionary, Missionary Jack,
Missionary Missionary Missionary Jack,

They tied Jack up on that day,
And Jack worried started to pray,
He said Lord, I need you,
I don't want to be human stew,

The tribe started dancing around,
Some were jumping up and down,
The sky above was getting dark,
And on the ground left a dismal mark,

The thunder and rain came tumbling in,
The tribe didn't want to swim,
Lightning came down and struck one man,
Then they thought over their lunch plan,

He was Missionary, Missionary, Missionary Jack,
Missionary Missionary Missionary Jack,

The loud roar from the sky,
Made them think that they would die,
They took Jack off the stake,
And threw away the chocolate cake,

They all knealed on their knees,
Saying we will do whatever you please,
Jack said here me out,
This is what life's all about,

Jack told them of God so true,
And how they could have life anew,
They found out that they had sin,
And soon each was born again!

He was Missionary, Missionary, Missionary Jack,
Missionary Missionary Missionary Jack,

A Lullaby For The Newborn

Words by Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1992 Jay Rinkel

Little one, little one, I want you to know,
There's a God above who loves you,
And wants you to grow,

Little one, little one, please listen to me,
May Christ be your all in all,
Your reality,

Little one, little one, please hear my song,
Obey your mom and dad,
And your life will be long,

Little one, little one, this song is for you,
And all I have to say is,
God bless you.

Paper Toys

Words by Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1992 Jay Rinkel

Paper Toys,
Sittin' on a shelf,
In a youngsters playful room,
Paper Toys,
Created by a mastermind,
Of imagination and kind,
Sitting there, helplessly,
They have no place to go,
Unless the master comes,
And takes them down,
Paper Toys,
Of all kinds,
Made by one cheerful mind,
Airplanes, cars, guns, and houses,
Sitting there silently,
Paper Toys,
Just remember,
You'll live happily,

God's Amazing Creation

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1992 Jay Rinkel

God's amazing creation,
God's amazing creation,
Oh it's beautiful,
Oh it's wonderful,
God's amazing creation,

God's amazing creation,
Oh the trees and leaves,
Oh the seas and streams,
God's amazing creation,

God's amazing creation,
Stars shine bright at night,
Days filled with sunlight,
God's amazing creation,

God's amazing creation,
Oh birds sing at dawn,
Oh time passes on,
God's amazing creation,

Jaws

Words by Jay Rinkel

When Jaws dangered Salt Lake City,
He didn't know it was so much pity,
It was Jaws, It was so Jawsy,
It was Jaws, It was so Jawsy,

When Jaws dangered Salt Lake City,
He didn't know it was so much pity,
Then he went down to the fishes,
And he ate up all the dishes,
It was Jaws, It was so Jawsy,
It was Jaws, It was so Jawsy,

Life

Words by Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

Well it's more than cereal in a box,
And nobody's more sly than the fox,
Which here I'm to say,
My name is Jay,
And I'm here to present life,

Well I walk the street of Indigo,
There is a dog called Fido,
But I say I am Jay,
And I'm here to present life,

Well it's more than cereal in a box,
And nobody's more sly than the fox,
Which here I'm to say,
My name is Jay,
And I'm here to present life,

Wake Up World

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

Do you think that God above could look down on the Earth below?
Do you think that He would smile upon this world of sin and vile?
Do you think that He would want, war, in this world to haunt?
No I don't think so, No I don't think so,

Wake Up World,
God above is looking down in love,
But our sin makes him sad,
If we turn away from our bad,
It would make him very glad,

People here, people there, walking 'round with a load of care,
Thieves in the dark, black night, ready to sieze a precious sight,
Guns and bombs everywhere, that violent men want to snare,
When will we turn to, the Lord God?

Wake Up World,
God above is looking down in love,
But our sin makes him sad,
If we turn away from our bad,
It would make him very glad,

Homosexuals brought this thing called AIDS, the plague that kills and halts not the pain,
Satan worship is all around, growing by leaps and bounds,
Murderers in the night, killing people on first sight,
When will we turn away, from our sin?

Wake Up World,
God above is looking down in love,
But our sin makes him sad,
If we turn away from our bad,
It would make him very glad,

These things called drugs are all around, dragging thousands deathward bound,
Child abuse is everywhere, giving children a terror scare,
The new age is creeping in, eventually influence win,
What has gone wrong in our world?

Wake Up World,
God above is looking down in love,
But our sin makes him sad,
If we turn away from our bad,
It would make him very glad,

Wonderland

Words by Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

There's a vision in my mind,
Of a place one of a kind,
There's a mountain that stretches to the sky,
This mountain does stand above a great beautiful land,
And it touches clouds as they roll by,
This mountain stands bold above a city of gold,
Whose walls are built upon precious stones,

I'm going to Wonderland, I'm going to Wonderland,
I'm going to Wonderland, New Jerusalem,

Now this city's walls are very tall,
And if you climb them you're certain to fall,
There are twelve pearly gates,
Each direction three face,
With God's mighty hand he made it all,
Each gate has inscribed,
A name of an Israel tribe,
And there's an angel who stands right outside,

I'm going to Wonderland, I'm going to Wonderland,
I'm going to Wonderland, New Jerusalem,

The streets are made of gold,
A sight to behold,
Pure gold -- glass it looks like,
A crystal clear river flows out from God's holy throne,
And flows by the tree of life,
The tree of life bears fruit each month,
Oh my what a tasty lunch,
This is all such a wonderful sight.

I'm going to Wonderland, I'm going to Wonderland,
I'm going to Wonderland, New Jerusalem,

Now you cannot enter in
Unless the book of life your name is in,
So get your name into the book right now,
All you must do is know that Christ died for you,
He came to save you from your sins,
Invite him in your life he will give you eternal life,
So wonderland you can go in,

I'm going to Wonderland, I'm going to Wonderland,
I'm going to wonderland, New Jerusalem,

The Wacky World Of Gizmos

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

A traveler was walking down,
A long dusty road,
A robot came up and greeted him,
It was made of gold,
The robot said isn't this great,
I'm glad to see a new face,
Don't you know where you are,
You're in a wacky place,

This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
Welcome to this place,
This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
The age of outer-space,
We find this place amusing,
We hope that you will too,
This is the wacky world of gizmos,
The electronic zoo.

This land extends both far and wide,
And out into the sea,
The sea although is wierd you know,
It's filled with mercury,
The mountains stand proudly,
And look at the dawn,
And the people they don't realize,
The mountains are made of silicon,

This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
Welcome to this place,
This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
The age of outer-space,
We find this place amusing,
We hope that you will too,
This is the wacky world of gizmos,
The electronic zoo.

The fish in the water,
They don't live naturally,
Their gills are made of metal,
They breath electronically,
The cats and dogs in our town,
Don't fight with teeth or claws,
Instead they use laser beams,
Built into their paws,

This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
Welcome to this place,
This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
The age of outer-space,
We find this place amusing,
We hope that you will too,
This is the wacky world of gizmos,
The electronic zoo.

We have no cars here,
They're not needed as you see,
Instead we have teletransporters,
Which take us straight to Electri-City,
The birds here don't flap their wings,
It's too tiring as you know,
They have small jet engines,
Which really make them go.

This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
Welcome to this place,
This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
The age of outer-space,
We find this place amusing,
We hope that you will too,
This is the wacky world of gizmos,
The electronic zoo.

Mandelbrot mountains,
And fractal flowers,
These are the scenery,
Imagine sailing in a ship,
On the sea of reality.

This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
Welcome to this place,
This is the Wacky World Of Gizmos,
The age of outer-space,
We find this place amusing,
We hope that you will too,
This is the wacky world of gizmos,
The electronic zoo.

The Miracle Man

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

He was born in Bethlehem,
In a manger he did lay,
Shepherds left their flocks at night,
To see the king that day,
And way out in a far far land,
The wisemen came to see,
The king that came to be our saviour,
From sin to set us free,

Come meet the Miracle Man,
A Miracle Man was He,
A Nazarene, a carpenter,
A Miracle Man was He,

He performed wonders and signs,
Raised people from the dead,
Turned water into wedding wine,
With a boys lunch thousands fed,
He spoke in parables,
Confused many a mind,
The Pharisees who claimed to see,
Were really spiritually blind,

Come meet the Miracle Man,
A Miracle Man was He,
A Nazarene, a carpenter,
A Miracle Man was He,

He was nailed to a cross,
The scene was very gloom,
He died and was placed,
Buried in a borrowed tomb,
And after three long days,
He rose up from the grave,
Now he wants you to give your life,
So your life he can save,

Come meet the Miracle Man,
A Miracle Man was He,
A Nazarene, a carpenter,
A Miracle Man was He,

So come to Jesus the Miracle Man,
He wants to give you new life,
For he who conquered death,
Wants to take you from strife,
So come to him he'll take you in,
For your time is drawing near,
You will be with him forever,
There's no reason to fear,

Come meet the Miracle Man,
A Miracle Man was He,
A Nazarene, a carpenter,
A Miracle Man was He,

Can't Be Afraid To Fail

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

I hear the mocks of jeering crouds,
As I stumble through the line,
The race was already finished,
I was twenty minutes behind,
And as I walk away in disgust,
And my hope almost gone,
A little voice inside of me,
Said just keep going on,

I've got to climb the highest mountain,
Walk the longest road,
I've got to swim the largest ocean,
Fly the fastest plain,
And I can't be afraid to fail,
Though I feel so much pain,

I don't know where I should go,
I can't tell you how I feel,
I just try and try carry on,
Just to see myself fail,
And as my dad came to the room,
He looked at me straight on,
He said no matter where you sail,
Don't be afraid to fail.

I've got to climb the highest mountain,
Walk the longest road,
I've got to swim the largest ocean,
Fly the fastest plain,
And I can't be afraid to fail,
Though I feel so much pain,

I worked and worked all I could,
I was determined to try,
I had my goal set on the mark,
My soul was ready to fly,
And I know that on a fine bright day,
Though may be far away,
I'll go crashing through the finish line,
And hear the cheering crowds,

I've got to climb the highest mountain,
Walk the longest road,
I've got to swim the largest ocean,
Fly the fastest plain,
And I can't be afraid to fail,
Though I feel so much pain,

Now the long race has begun,
I know I could win this time,
The finish line ahead of me,
The start was already past,
And as I hear the cheering crowds,
And my hope lifted up,
I go crashing through the finish line,
The race I had just won,

I've got to climb the highest mountain,
Walk the longest road,
I've got to swim the largest ocean,
Fly the fastest plain,
And I can't be afraid to fail,
Though I feel so much pain,

The American Dream

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

Mister Joe is a real nice guy,
He's got a house, a car,
Two kids and a wife,
He sits in his lazy boy and reads paper,
But is he satisfied no,
What will he want later,

He's looking for the American Dream,
He's looking for the American Dream,
He's trying his way,
Marching everyday,
He's looking for the American Dream,

Mister Joe now owns an expensive yacht,
His kids are out of college,
He owns a big restaurant,
In his eye he has a golden gleam,
He wants lots of money,
He's got a real big dream

He's looking for the American Dream,
He's looking for the American Dream,
He's trying his way,
Marching everyday,
He's looking for the American Dream,

Mister Joe is now retired,
He has opened fortune's door,
He owns a restaurant chain,
And an automobile store,
Yet in all his life,
He lacked just one thing,
The truth of Jesus Christ,
Our saviour and our king,

So my friend,
If you're expanding you might,
You cannot take it with you,
When you leave this life,
For what good is it
If you have wealth and gold,
That when you die,
You lose your own soul.

He was looking for the American Dream,
He was looking for the American Dream,
He was trying his way,
Marching everyday,
He was looking for the American Dream,

You Gotta Get Tough

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1993 Jay Rinkel

There are millions who have died,
Save them?  No one tried,
They are babies who never saw their first light,
Abortion a tragic killer,
Destruction of tiny creatures,
When will we see the light?
When will we stand up and fight?

You gotta get tough,
When the evil rages at you,
You gotta get tough,
When the war fires at you,
You gotta stand up for what is right,
Though the evil protests your sight,
You gotta get tough,

There it was on my TV,
Active gays making a scene,
Wanting to have a place in the Boy Scouts,
Boy Scouts don't think it's right,
To have gays in their scouting life,
Why can't gays leave 'em alone?
Why can't scouts be their own?

You gotta get tough,
When the evil rages at you,
You gotta get tough,
When the war fires at you,
You gotta stand up for what is right,
Though the evil protests your sight,
You gotta get tough,

There's a war of good and evil all around you,
To stand up for what is right,
Could be the world?s last shining light,

You gotta get tough,
When the evil rages at you,
You gotta get tough,
When the war fires at you,
You gotta stand up for what is right,
Though the evil protests your sight,
You gotta get tough,
You gotta get tough,

For it's in Jesus that you must trust,

Come aboard the train,
Come aboard the train,
Come aboard the train,
The Gospel Train,

Come aboard the train,
Come aboard the train,
Come aboard the train,
The Gospel Train,

Friends

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1994 Jay Rinkel

Sharing the times together,
Sharing the times,
Sharing the times together,
Makes me feel great,

Friends are needed today,
As you know,
Friends are needed today,
As you know,

When the cruel world hates you,
And you are alone,
That's when you need a friend,
To comfort you,

Sharing the times together,
Sharing the times,
Sharing the times together,
Makes me feel great,

People are out there,
Looking for some friends,
They're watching and waiting,
For someone to care,

When you need someone to talk to,
Or need a helping hand,
A friend will be glad to help you,
In any way he can,

Sharing the times together,
Sharing the times,
Sharing the times together,
Makes me feel great,

When you're feeling down,
Or even when you're sad,
A friend can cheer you up,
And make you very glad,

True friends will never leave you,
For any cause,
True friends won't forsake you,
When you fall,

The New Kid On The Block

Words by Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1994 Jay Rinkel

So this is our new house in this lonesome town,
I don't know anyone, anyone around,
Mom, I don't want to move, can't we go right back,
Dad, I don't want to move, get your old job back,

Yes I'm the new kid on the block,
There is no one here I know,
I wish we didn't have to move,
Away from our old home,

I went to school today not a soul said hi,
I ate lunch alone and very sad was I,
The teacher she teased me, she made me very mad,
I am made fun of and the kids are very glad,

Yes I'm the new kid on the block,
There is no one here I know,
I wish we didn't have to move,
Away from our old home,

On my way home from school some kids laughed at my shirt,
They said it looked funny, and that it was made out of dirt,
They called me a scuz, but I'm not sure what it means,
I know it must be dirty, and I'm breaking at the seems,

Yes I'm the new kid on the block,
There is no one here I know,
I wish we didn't have to move,
Away from our old home,

I don't have a single friend to keep me company,
If I just had one friend, I would live more happily,
The kid from next door came to apologize,
He said he was sorry and that he acted unwise,
I smiled at him he smiled at me we became very good friends,
Though the other kids in school don't think highly of me,
I'm so glad I found a friend and a friend has found me,

I'm the new kid on the block,
I now have someone I know,
A friend is so great to have,
And I'm no longer alone,

Highway Of Holiness

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1994 Jay Rinkel

There is a road that is narrow, A road that is straight,
It will lead us to, Heaven's pearly gates,
The evil won't walk there, The lions will not roam,
And for those who travel, Will take them straight home,

Are you going on, The highway of holiness?
Are you going to, Mount Zion of righteousness?
Please make sure, That you will go there,
Are you going on, The highway of holiness?

Don't be misled now, You gotta trust in Christ,
For He is the only way, You may have life,
He suffered and died, To take away your sins,
And He rose again, So that you could go to him,

Are you going on, The highway of holiness?
Are you going to, Mount Zion of righteousness?
Please make sure, That you will go there,
Are you going on, The highway of holiness?

The road will get rough, And rocky now and then,
Just keep yourself, From going into sin,
Then one day, You will find yourself,
Before the face of God Almighty himself,

Are you going on, The highway of holiness?
Are you going to, Mount Zion of righteousness?
Please make sure, That you will go there,
Are you going on, The highway of holiness?

What Child Is This

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1994 Jay Rinkel

A long time ago, Mary and Joseph,
Went to Bethlehem town,
To be taxed by Ceasar Augutus,
And pay tribute to his crown,
While they were there,
Mary had a son,
His name was Jesus,
And the world looked on,
And one day will realize,
That he is God with us.

What child is this, what child is this,
That brings the world such joy?
What child is this, what child is this,
God himself as a little boy,

Out in a field, Shepherds were watching,
Their sheep out there,
And a light shown all around them,
And they were very scared,
An angel said, Don't be afraid,
Tonight is born a king,
You should go and you will find him there,
And angels will sing,

What child is this, what child is this,
That the shepherds came to see?
What child is this, what child is this,
The perfect lamb of eternity,

The wisemen studied the stars in the sky,
And they charted each ones path,
One night a new light shown up above,
And it wasn't on their maps,
They realized it was a sign,
Of a king that's to be born,
So they packed up and left,
To Judea so the new king they could adore,

What child is this,  what child is this,
That the wisemen came to see?
What child is this, what child is this,
True Wisdom in a  baby.

What child is this, what child is this,
That brings the world such joy?
What child is this, what child is this,
God himself as a little boy,

Clap Your Hands

Words By Jay Rinkel
Copyright 1994 Jay Rinkel

Clap your hands sing praise to the Lord,
Clap your hands sing praise to his name,
Clap your hands sing praise to the Lord,
Oh halleluiah praise to the Lord,

There was once a time when I did not know God,
My life was full of sin I didn't know where to trod,
Then one day God saved my life,
Now I'm dead to sin and I'm free from strife,

Clap your hands sing praise to the Lord,
Clap your hands sing praise to his name,
Clap your hands sing praise to the Lord,
Oh halleluiah praise to the Lord,

Jesus

Words By Jay Rinkel

Come and see this little boy,
Come and see him in the temple,
Come and see this little boy,
The One who speaks God's matchless words,

He is talking to the priests,
He is talking to the elders,
He is telling them the word
Of God they have never heard,

See this man at thrity years,
He's driving out the money makers,
He is telling them how God,
Hates their money fraud,

See him talk to a big large crowd,
He is telling them of God above,
How they can know the Lord,
And experience his mighty love,

See him on a wooden cross,
He's dying there for you and me,
It was his precious blood,
That allows us to be set free,

He has risen from the grave,
Ascended to God on high,
He will come back to the Earth,
When he knows the time is right,

Come and see this little boy,
Come and see him in the temple,
Come and see this little boy,
The One who speaks God's matchless words,

Words By Jay Rinkel

There's an evil one who is lurking around,
He is wating for you to fall down,
He firing on your mind and your soul,
Your destruction is his ultimate goal,
Do you know that a battle is raging,
Do you  know that your in a war,
Do you see the fire-bombs blazing,
Can you tell what your in for,

You're in war, You're in war,
You're in the almighty spiritual war,
You're in war, You're in war,
You're in the almighty spiritual war,
You're in war.

Do you have the armor of God on,
So you can stand against the evil one,
Do you hold the great strong shield of faith,
So you can stop the fire that comes from each way,
Are your loins girt about with the truth,
Does your salvation helmet stay on you,
Keep the sword of the spirit in your hand,
So you can defeat the evil in your land,

You're in war, You're in war,
You're in the almighty spiritual war,
