A little update... I've been a bit busy with these pages, and you may
notice a few differences. The Main Menu's topics are now divided, and the
info spread out a little more, so that instead of one looooong page, there
are several shorter pages. Hopefully everything has been organized in such
a way that it will be easier to find and to view. I want to thank those
of you who take the time to email me your comments and your info.
That's what helps make this page fun to do and fun to explore. Since this
page was put online in June of 2000 I have gotten some great emails
and met a lot of friendly fans. If you have information you would
like to share, please email me.

The Engagement Ring
is a must-see! Be sure to catch it, it is very funny and sweet. If
you are a first-time visitor here looking for more info on Vincent Spano,
Welcome! Take some time to explore this site, it has pictures and
info and lots of fun stuff. Don't forget to go let everyone know what you
thought about The Engagement Ring on the
message
board thoughtfully provided by TNT. (11-05)
There is now a
message board up to talk about the movie, The Engagement Ring. Until the
movie airs, there aren't too many specifics to discuss, but you can go
ahead and register to use it (free and quick) and begin filling everyone
in on how fabulous Vincent is, in case they didn't already know.
It's an ezboard, so chances are that if you are on any other message
boards run by ezboard, you are already registered and ready to go. It is
safe to do, too. I am usually kind of hesitant about signing up for these
"free" boards and things, but I registered with ezboard a long time ago
and so far they haven't sent me a bunch of junk emails or anything . Check
it out and chat it up! (11-05)
The Engagement Ring
site has been updated, and transformed. It is very nice. You should check
it out for photos, promos, air times, and an interview with Vincent about
the movie and his character. Ah, all you need is love, love -- love
is all you need. I wonder if Vincent is a Beatles fan? To understand
what the heck I'm talking about, read the interview! Go
visit the site. (10-05)
Ah, jewelry. What better
to pair with Vincent? That's just what will happen in "The
Engagement Ring," a movie set to air on TNT on Sunday, November 28.
Check out the link for more info. Hmm.. I've got an engagement ring story
or two of my own... one involves Easter, a turtle, a great deal of hair,
tourists from India, chimichangas, a church, absolutely no romance whatsoever,
a camera, a fruitless search, and some really big wrenches. I still get
a sick feeling in my stomach when I think about that story. I somehow
doubt it's the same as the one coming up on TNT. (09-05)
Just FYI, the movie
"Silence" is also called "Dead Silence" and also called "The Only Witness".
Caught the last third of it on Lifetime last night, where it was called
the last name on that list. Seeing Vincent's sweet genuine smile
at the little girl in the movie made me want to update this page, among
other things. (09-05)
Landslide was supposed
to air recently, but did not. One day, though, I'm sure someone somewhere
will get to see it. In the meantime, go to the "PorchLight"
website and learn more about it. It shows a link to a trailer, but I have
so far been unable to get that link to work.. (09-05)
Also, I wanted to let
people know -- don't laugh -- I am actually not Vincent Spano. But occasionally
I do get emails from people that think I am actually him, telling me I
am great and I should do more films. But I'm not him. And if
I was him, I would have to be scaling the heights of narcissism to
make a site like this about myself. Not that it would be a bad thing. A
touch of narcissism can be cool. But, anyway, if you have compliments or
comments for Vincent, try writing to him at this
address. (09-05)
Okay, well, time for
some more updates! I've now seen "Betrunner,"
(I have my own copy, actually) and it is a really good short film. I've
reviewed it, if you want to check it out on the reviews
page. In addition to other accolades, it was also chosen as a Beverly Hills
Film Festival Official Selection and a Silverlake Film Festival Official
Selection. I'm sure there will be more to add as the short continues making
its way through the film festivals. I've also gotten a chance to
see "Tony and Bobby," if you recall, that was a short Vincent directed
and won an award for doing so. It's pretty funny, and I reviewed it too.
05-05
I, um, 'borrowed' a
bit of text and review written by Bob Sharka and Deborah DePauk and from
their Friends of
Film page regarding "Betrunner" so that you wouldn't miss it...
"Vincent Spano's follow-up to the crowd favorite this past year, TONY AND
BOBBY, was a daring look at a woman who takes horse track bets at the casinos
in BETRUNNER. Spano continues to nurture his skills and storytelling
talents, getting ready for his next gig."
Got a great new photo
to share, you should check it out in the Special
Photos section. I've also found a link with great photos from "Good
Morning Babylon" if you'd
like to visit. Trust me, you'd like to visit. It will end up in the
links section one of these days. 05-05
Also, apparently "Landslide"
did appear on television, when and where I have NO clue, but it seems that
it did. I found this out through another site, Alexandra Paul's -- she
was in it too. It has some behind the scenes photos from the movie. Check
it out if you'd like. Do have a look at the photos, because although
most look like they are just of one or two people, they are actually group
photos. If you'll excuse me for saying so, in the main photo of her
on this page, she really needs her bangs cut. And she also needs to eat
a few sandwiches or pasta or something, because she is too totally skinny.
Yeh, yeh, none of my business. Right. 05-05
There is now an official
website for "Betrunner," which
stars Gabrielle Conforti (she also wrote, produced, and starred in it),
and was directed by Vincent. It debuted at the Palm Springs Internat'l
Festival of Short Films. It is on the Festival circuit, and so far is the
winner of the Governor's Cup, New Mexico, 2nd place, Narrative. Congratulations
to Gabrielle and Vincent! You can buy a copy from the site. Dottie, from
one of the email lists, also sent this
link, which features some behind-the-scenes footage from Julie Dolan's
(who is a very cool chick) page. 03-05
Oooookay you all, you
are going to just *die* when you see this photo. It is a Dolce and Gabbana
advertisement from a 1992 issue of Grazia magazine, very, very generously
donated to me by Amuit.
Check his auctions out, won't you? He is a wonderful guy. Be very, very
careful when you click on this link, because everyone
in this photo is unbelievably smoking hot. Don't say I didn't warn you,
and don't get burned! A bit more info about the photo is available in the
Special
Photos section. 03-05
Pam, the information
Web Wonder Woman, recently sent me much news! A new
site to check out has been added to the links section. It leads to
a place that lists a lot of things Vincent is going to be involved with
in the future. All are production and directing projects. It also
includes possible distribution info for "Tony and Bobby". Also, 'A Brooklyn
State of Mind' was released on DVD in February. She found a copy on Amazon.
The Double McGuffin is now out on DVD also, it was released mid-February.
Many thanks to Pam! 03-05
Okay, this site is really
far out. Really far out, like, in outer space far out. I do have some details
on it from the webmaster -- it is the site for Star Trek: *Liberty*
which is in its sixth year, and the webmaster says it is considered
by many to be some of the very best fan fiction on the internet. It, for
the most part, chronicles the adventures of a captain, officers and crew
on a *Sovereign*-class Federation starship (the type first seen in Star
Trek: *First Contact* -- for non-fans, "that movie with the Borg")
and is set in the *Next Generation*/*Deep Space Nine* period. Check
it out. 03-05
Yet another new photo
added to the Special Photos section. See,
I'm making up for last year, when I was in a bit of a slump, updates-wise.
This one is from Premiere magazine, when they did shoots of current stars
in scenes from older movies. I've also discovered a stash of much, much
older magazine clippings... almost all black and white (or rather black
and yellow-ish) of a very young Vincent in magazines like "16,"
"Teen Beat," and "Tiger Beat," where he is referred to quite often as "hunky".
Ah, journalism for teenage girls. Expect those to be coming pretty soon.
One to start off with is in the Special Photos
section. 03-05
Hey now, I'm over my
obligatory winter bout with the upper respiratory cooties. Got over it
just in time for pollen allergy season! Hoo-ray. Anyway, the good
news is I've got two black and white press kit photos from Medusa's Child
to share. It originally aired Nov. 16-20, 1997. Can't believe how long
ago that was, or I guess, rather, I can't believe how old I am *now*.
Anyway, drop down to the special photos section
to have a peek. The legal stuff is down there too. 03-05
The movie and television
history now includes stars next to the items I have reviewed, so you can
find out more about those films. Also have started putting the month and
year by the updates, for the sake of the archives and that sort of thing.
Found a very nice link
to a nice montage
of photos from The Ascent. I think you'll like it! 03-05
I've got a really great
new photo to share with all of you. You will love it! Click
to view it, or hop down to the Photos section
to find it there. I scaled it down a bit because of bandwidth, but
if you don't mind getting a big-ass file in your email box, email me and
I'll send you a larger copy. 02-05.
I've updated the
site recently, with movie reviews for Dead Silence
(which I finally found to rent on DVD), The Rats, Texas Rangers, Goosed,
and Medusa's Child. This brings the number of personal reviews to
18. Only about 20-something more to go... ;-) .... I am also trying to
take a trip through the links, to delete or fix any broken ones. As always,
new links are welcomed! 02-05.
In case you missed it,
Vincent had a couple of appearances on "North
Shore" on Fox. It was very cool. If you missed it, there are always
re-runs! Watch for him as a millionaire shining in the Hawaii sun. He played
"Dan Ralston" in episode: "The Cook, the Waitress, the GM and his Lover"
(episode # 1.16) and in episode: "The Big One" (episode # 1.15) . Look
for it in 2005 re-runs.
