Alabama (my present hometown)

Huntsville, Alabama. United Technologies/USBI transferred me to Huntsville in January 1987, to work on the return-to-flight of the Space Shuttle.

California (my previous hometowns)

Santa Maria, California. McDonnell Douglas transferred me from the Greater Los Angeles area to Vandenberg Air Force Base to work with the M.O.L. (Manned Orbiting Laboratory) program. This area is located in the Central Coast region of California.

• Los Angeles, California. I graduated from college with a BSEE (Electronics Engineering). McDonnell Douglas was the first company to hire me as an engineer.

• Whenever I want to make a cybervisit to the Islands, the first place I go to is Tammy's My Tropical Home in Hawaii website.
  
  Tammy's spectacular aerial photo showing the inside of Diamond Head is one of my favorites and a rare sight. Thank you, Tammy.
  
  Burkheimer Tunnel is located in Diamond Head. The Civil Defense Headquarters Command Center operated in the Tunnel during emergencies and exercises when I was a student at McKinley High School* in Honolulu.
  
  It was "cool" to be excused from classes when Civil Defense activated because, as an Amateur Radio operator, I was member of the communications team. We handled mostly official traffic between the Islands and Santa Rosa, California, our Mainland contact point, using voice, CW (morse code), and teletype.

• Crackseeds Hawaii is a website that offers a terrific service by bringing the flavor of the Islands to us. They offer "ono" goodies that are often difficult to locate on the Mainland -- or too costly -- at remarkably reasonable prices. Their prices are even lower than the local competition which makes it a bargain for even the locals.

• Hawaii's Telephone Directory is a neat resource if you need to look up a phone number of someone in the Islands.
