Jeff KingMontreal-born Jeff King is a familiar and respected name in Canadian entertainment. Along with partner Robert Carney, King wrote and produced the CBS late night hit series Night Heat, which aired in over 50 countries for five seasons. The series won two Gemini Awards for Best Dramatic Series, as well as being voted Most Popular Program in a TV Guide poll. Both he and Carney went onto produce Diamonds, an hour-long action-adventure about a divorced couple who shared a private eye agency. In 1989, both King and Carney created E.N.G, a newsroom drama which ultimately garnered six Gemini Awards for Best Dramatic Series. The series ran for five years in 48 countries, and can still be seen in syndication to this day. King stayed with the series for three years. He moved onto new projects, such as CBS's Top Cops, a half-hour anthology series about policeman around the world, but remained as consultant for E.N.G's final year. King then went on to produce the NBC series Secret Service, the film Ordeal in the Arctic, before landing a position on the CBS/CTV action-adventure Mountie show, Due South. During his first two years on the series, he produced as well as wrote several episodes. When Due South ended the second time, King worked as producer of the gritty CBS drama EZ Streets, which was developed and written by Due South creator Paul Haggis. From there King went to work in Vancouver on the ambitious Showtime series Stargate SG-1. He found time afterwards to return to Due South when it was resurrected for a second time, and worked in the capacity of Executive Consultant. He is served as Producer of Alliance's action series Total Recall, based on the Arnold Schwarzenegger film of the same name . He's also co-produced the half-hour CTV series, Art Bookster, about a 'burnt-out' filmmaker who, along with four kids, is traveling across Canada in search of the 'soul of Canadian rock'n'roll.' Other projects King has produced include "Relic Hunter," "Strange Days at Blake Holsey High," and "The Black Donnellys." King continues to be a very active producer.
