Brief Synopsis Nothing is at it seems when Thatcher, Kowalski and Welsh all witness a murder in a mall. Each person saw a different event, and it's up to Fraser to help solve the crime. Detailed Overview Fraser, Thatcher, Welsh and Kowalski are at a local mall for the dedication of a gift - an Inuit Inuksuk -- from Canada to the United States. Kowalski thinks the Canadians could give a much more practical gift than a 'pile of rocks.' While the quartet all briefly scatter before the ceremony, a loud argument begins between three people at a nearby table. The argument -- and ensuing death of one of the trio -- is witnessed by Thatcher, Welsh and Kowalski. Fraser was busy chasing a purse-snatcher and missed the excitement. However, nobody saw the same thing, and each has a different idea of the killer's identity. The situation gets no better when Fraser takes down all their statements back at the police station, and the two suspects in custody refuse to talk, or even identify themselves. Fraser asks his fellow officers to detail what they saw, which evolves into an interesting and humorous study of how each individual's personality is reflected and intertwined into what they saw: Welsh saw it as a Mob rub-out; Stan saw it as a crime of passion involving kids; and Thatcher definitely saw it as a crime of passion (which results in quite an embarrassing moment for her!). They finally discover the identities of the two suspects: Judy Cates and Keith Warren, the former of whom is the daughter of a wealthy man. And then it gets worse when everybody begins confessing to the crime. Fraser decides to employ hypnosis when all leads go nowhere. Alas, little is yielded by the session. However, Fraser does leave a few little post-hypnotic suggestions. But soon Fraser weaves the details together and a suspect is sought out, which results in a shoot-out in the police station's parking lot. The suspect is caught, and the crime is solved. Music
