Written By: David Cole Directed By: Guest Stars: Regular Cast: |
Brief Synopsis When a witness is snatched just after Fraser and Kowalski leave him to the Feds, it seems that no prosecution will ever occur. Fraser has a seemingly simple solution to catch the bad guys in the act - but it could cost him his life. Meanwhile, Francesca faces a difficult, life-altering decision. Detailed Overview Criminal Van Zandt has been busy killing people and disposing of their bodies; however, the police are unable to catch him in the act. Jones, one of Van Zandt's people, decides to testify against him, so it's up to Fraser and Stan to protect him for one shift before he testifies. Unfortunately the next shift loses the witness, and Jones is presumed dead, another victim of Van Zandt. After pursuing leads, the police decide to investigate one of Van Zandt's funeral homes. Because of a court injunction, the only way to get a cop inside is in a coffin. Fraser volunteers for this task. Fraser convinces Welsh of his ability to lower his heart rate enough to fool anyone. Unfortunately he does this while in the morgue, and when he 'flatlines,' this scenario is seen by the local police gossip lady. While Fraser goes undercover inside the funeral home, the gossip lady is busy spreading news that the Mountie is dead. The funeral home fills with mourners, including a grief-stricken Francesca who shows up in a wedding dress. She's so upset she tries to hug the dearly departed Fraser, and then sees there is another body underneath him. Panic breaks out and Francesca is taken hostage, but the day is saved when the 'deceased' sits up in his coffin, sending virtually everyone into dead faints. Music
