This is readily given and there by thwarting the local DA from arrest ray at the time allowing the friends to find out whom really did the crime. Ray is naturally antsy due to he wants to get out and start looking but Benton tells him it isn't worth leaving the consulate to find what he wants if it means getting arrested and thrown in jail. Now Poor old Turnbull is stuck helping Benton out while Thatcher is away at a spa getting beauty treatment (and she has no idea what is going on!). There were some delightful moments during this episode, the ones primarily being when Turnbull threatening to beat the tar out of Ray for insulting the game of curling-the fact that ray slipped by surveillance in turnbulls outfit and Detectives hewey and Dewey not even seeing despite the fact they were just inches away, and when Thatcher called up to see how things were and ray answers the phone and gave ray the impression she was turned on by his name when she was really getting a massage while on the phone. The savagery of it all when he tried it again in real life and got no where. I was laughing up a storm. After getting in and out of a number of misadventures it is eventually revealed that the DA is the one who did it and he duly gets arrested and revealed in front of the cameras he brought to nail Ray with. There was one touching moment that moved me a lot, it was just before the end-ray tried to leave due to he feared what would happen. But as he tried to flee Benton stopped him and told him they'd fight this together. Ray asked him if he'd do this for him and Benton said yes, he'd go this far for a friend and the look on ray's face was so wonderful. You could tell he probably never had that said to him with so much honesty in his life and even though It meant a lot to him you could tell he didn't trust himself fully to believe it.
For me this episode personified the very fact these two men have bonded, as friend's not just partners. I t reassured me that the series was not dead and the fact the produces had made a wise choice of character for being Bentons new partner, It also showed how the power of one can make a difference.
