I am looking for information on the family of Samuel and Susan Miller Brown He was a minister in the Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church, and she gave birth to eight children. I am uncertain if the family lived in Caldwell County as they came to the area before this county was formed. If not Caldwell, then they resided in Livingston Co. where I have cross listed a querry. My primary interest is in Issac Newton Brown who was born May 27, 1817. He went on to become a famous Confederate naval officer after serving 27 years in the United States Navy. The Brown family relocated to Tipton Co. Tennessee in the early 1820s so their time in Western Kentucky was probably 10-12 years. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Afterwards they moved to Alabama where John died in Sumter County Alabama in 1842. He was married to Jane Anderson. I found on the internet from Caldwell County a John Holland listed as a veteran. He had a son William Holland also in land records in Caldwell County. Anyway I have lots of information on this family beginning with John. In my searching I found that a Francis Holland and his son John were in a Capt. Bowie's regiment in South Carolina. In John's pension he talks about being a drummer boy in Capt. Bowie's regiment. I am trying to trace John's father whom I think is Francis Holland. He had three (?)older brothers that were involved with the Night Riders. They were Will, Jim and possibly Fred MORSE. These brothers were about ten years older than my father. My grandfather, William Cass MORSE, was a homesteader in the county. My father told us about the activities of the Night Riders including burning a barn in Caldwell County. Also, Fred MORSE killed a man that was trying to prevent him from seeing his daughter. It was about the time of the Night Riders and I wonder if there is any connection.

Ezekiel appears on the tax lists paying a poll tax only, in Christian Co., in 1815 and left Fannie in KY in 1815. He went to Madison Co., GA where he resided near other Stephens. On the road between Princeton (Caldwell county) and Providence (Webster county) Kentucky (5 miles from Providence, 15 from Princeton) is a section of Hopkins county my family grew up in. I am having great difficulty tracking down William Fountain Montgomery b: abt 1841 d:abt 1891 and married to Fannie Carrie Simpson buried at Shady Grove cemetary. Many of William's son's and duaghters are buried at the cemetary on Government road, wood lane. This property is in Hopkins county. The dates would possibly put the entire family in Hopkins county before it was carved up into smaller counties. She was in all likelihood a ward of Thomas Beck, and may have been an orphan of Josiah YOUNG. She may have been born in MD or VA, coming to KY with her family or guardian. I am looking for information on the GOODWIN and MOORE families. Otis Wilson Moore was born in 1914 near Farmersville in Caldwell Co. He married Sarah WINTERS from Lyon Co. His father was Walter and his mother was Leafa Goodwin. Leafa's father died and her mother Sally Deboe married Walter's brother Sam Moore. I am trying to find what Leafa's father's first name was and when he was born and when he died. Also I am trying to find out who Walter Moore's parents were. Also who were Sally Deboe's parents. Sally is buried in Farmersville. Leafa and Walter are too, but in unmarked graves. Does anyone know if there is a way to find out exactly where they are buried. I know within a few feet because my grandmother remembers the funerals. Leafa was born Feb. 14, 1896 and died Feb 10, 1942. Walter was born Jan. 31, 1876 and died April 30, 1942. Sarah Winters' parents were Willie and Clara Riley Winters. I am trying to find ou who Clara's ancestors were. She was born April 7, 1883. Rebecca J. Morse, who was born cir 1833 in Caldwell Co., married Nehemiah A. CRAVENS on 30 March 1855. On 5 July 1856, Nehemiah Cravens was stabbed to death according to 1856 death report.
