Looking for information on the children of Jesse William Taylor (1889-
1969) and his first wife, Agnes O'Loughlin (1890-1920). Their eldest
daughter, Jessie Frances (1908-1998) was born in Paducah, but their
remaining four children were all born in PRINCETON, KY. Their names are
James Cornelius (1910-1997), Nina Eloise (w/h; still living), Mary Agnes
(1915-1969), and William Kimball (w/h; still living).
Agnes died in 1920 of tuberculosis; Jesse had contracted it also but had
recovered once he was sent out west. Jesse worked for the Illinois
Central Railroad as a dispatcher. Apparently, Agnes's mother had also
lived in Princeton. I know her only as "Grandma Cairnes" (b. Mary
Margaret Mullen? m. a James Cornelius O'Loughlin) and her husband as
"Daddy Jim." (Jim or James Cairnes?) After his recovery, Jesse sent for
his children to join him out west; last to arrive was his eldest
daughter, about 1923.

in this county can help me determine if N.T. Cannon was from

looking for a possible Anderson cemetery in Trigg Co.
in the Long Creek area in the current LBL. My gggg-granmother,
Sarah Carney Anderson, died sometime between 1807 and 1819
while living with her son Vincent Anderson in this Long Creek
area of what was then Livingston, then Caldwell, now Trigg Co.
Vincents wife, my gggrandmother, Mary Terry Anderson, died
shortly later and I believe them both buried together.
I have tried to transpose an old 1807 deed (filed in
Livingston Co at the time) to a modern KY map, and from that
I think that she probably was buried somewhere around Long
Creek probably not too far from where KY 80/US 68 cross Lake
Barkley.
If you have any immediate information about an Anderson
cemetery, or a cemetery in that area with Anderson markers,
or just any cemetery in that area with unmarked graves, then
I would be most grateful for this information. If you have
any links to the people doing the LBL cemetery cleanup I
would much appreciate that, too.

My
2nd great grandfather, Timothy N. Tracy came to Breckenridge, Caldwell
Co., MO abt 1870. He and is family are found on the Census that year.
In the family is a 1 yr. old child, Cora, shown to be born in IL, so they
must have come end of 1869 or beginning of 1870. Timothy's eldest son,
Fred (shown Frederick on census, which is incorrect), age 20, is with the
family, but his older sister is not. I presume she married wherever it
was they were at before coming to Breckinridge. Also these two
children's mother, Hannah appears to have died as Timothy is married to
Helen. This census says all the children were born in IL, but Fred was
born in MA. It also shows Helen to be born in NY and Timothy born in VT
- but he was born in NH, according to his marriage record to Hannah in
MA.
Timothy and Hannah left MA about 1854+/- as I find him on City
directories until that time.
I know that Fred married Gabrilia Shiner in 1876 and my grandfather was
born in Tama Co, IA. There are lots of Shiners in both Breckenridge, MO
and Tama Co., IA as I have a family history of the Shiners which places
them in these two areas.
Would appreciate any assistance of any kind with reference to this
family.
I sure would like to find out when Hannah died and where she is buried,
the older sister's name, who she married, where and when. Also, I would
like to know where Fred and Gabrilia married. Was it in MO, ILL or IA.
Her father died in Tama, IA so I assume it was there, but she was married
previously to Homer Joslin Blasdell in IL. They had three children and
were divorced.
Any assistance with this family would be greatly appreciated.

currently the oldest ancestor in the Hill line of my research. I know
according to census records he was born around 1780 in North Carolina.
He left NC and moved to TN and then on to Caldwell County.
I have 2 records of him in Caldwell County. They are:

2. Land Grant, Jan 8, 1836 Harrison Watercourse.
He is later found in Lyon County Census records, Did he move from the
Harrison Watercourse property? or did the Lyon County borders change and
encompass his existing farm.
Also, with that Land Grant information would it be possible for me to
locate that particular piece of land, if so how?

name mother, born in Illinois. Three children were born to the OLIVER
family; a son Lee, born 1886 and two daughters Allie, born about 1900 and
Laura, born about 1904. The parents died about 1896 and the children
were raised by relatives. Laura, my grandmother, is found in 1910 in

grandmother, Annice Rowland Azbill (1885-1962,) was the only child of
Robert Lee Rowland (1836-1896) and Mary Wilson Coffer d.1895. Robert was
the second sibling of William L. Rowland b.1812 and Nancy Halloway

license of Wm. L. Rowland and Nancy Halloway and the will of Lewis
Rowland. Lewis Rowland is a far back as I can go. I do not have a clue
where to look backward. Any help or suggestion would be much

There were two more children born before 1860 in Caldwell Co.
They were:
William born about 1852
John born about 1857
In 1860 in Reziah is again in McNairy Co. TN (listed as Lizzie)
with the 4 children.
Samuel died in McNairy Co. TN about 1858. Reziah/Kizzie died
about 1868. She was his third or fourth wife.
We think the children moved back to Caldwell Co.and was raised
by other family members.
There were several families of Wilds/Wiles on the 1850 Caldwell
Co census, and like to make contact with descendants to see if
there is family connection.

Louise Everett abt. 1910-1911. They had a daughter.Blanche died 1917 and
daughter was place in orphanage in Norfolk, VA. We do not know what
happened to John Franklin. Daughter stayed in orphanage until she
married my dad in 1927. Mother died in 1953. We would like to find any

Ella BROWN, 8 years of age, was living in the household of Jacob H.
YOUNG, age 27. Jacob YOUNG's sister mary A. YOUNG , age 29 is also
listed there. Kellie Workman, nephew to Jacob YOUNG, was a farm laborer
listed in the household also. Ella BROWN is listed as Jacob YOUNG's
niece, with a John W. H. BROWN , age 30, is listed as Jacob YOUNG's
brother-in-law. My question: Is John W. H. BROWN the father of Ella
BROWN. Ella BROWN later married a young man from Marshall Do., Ky. who's
name was Arvie Howard Redden. Ella is my grandmother and I have been
searching for a long while for her parents and this clue which I found in
the Census Records is the only thing I have to go on. I know that the
YOUNG family is related through her mother and the BROWN being her

before 1855. Margaret, Sam Houston and John living with Alex'r Traylor at

Anyone researching Joseph Jones Sr. who can tell me whether he had a son
Samuel E? Could Samuel who is married to Sericy Campbell be the father of

Does anyone know who the parents of JULIA ANN ORR were? Perhaps someone
can help me sort out the following:
Julia Ann was born about 1830 in Trigg Co., KY. She married WILBERN
NICKELL on January 12, 1844 in Caldwell Co., KY. The court documents of
that marriage include a statement by JOHN COCHRAN that he gives consent
for his daughter Julia Orr to marry Wilbern. John Cochran also consented
to the marriage bond with Wilbern .
Julia A. Nichols [sp?] appears in the 1850 Trigg Co., KY census as the
head of a household. [Apparently Wilbern had died--1849.] Julia's age is
given as 20. Three children are listed: Alfred, Emeline, Michael. My
lineage is traced through Julia's daughter Emeline/Emaline, who married
ZEDRIC D. MITCHUSSON born 5 June 1845 in Ironton, Trigg Co., KY. Zedric
fought on the Union side, and ultimately died from war wounds on 10
February 1877.
A journal page of death records, of which I have a photocopy [likely from
Lyon Co., KY as most individuals are listed as residing there] show the
death of Julia Orr on June 8, 1855. The listing appears as follows [with
my brackets]:
Julia Orr W[hite]/Age 25/ Female/ Single/ Occupation: B [whatever that
means, many are listed that way]/ Residence: Lyon Co., KY/ Place of
Birth: Trigg Co., KY/ Parents: JAMES & JANE ORR/Place of Death:
Smithland, KY/Time of Death: June 8, 1855/Cause of Death: Typhoid Fever.
Someone else has said that Julia Ann was buried at Newby Cemetery in Lyon
Co. But, unless I am missing something, I did not see that indicated in
the account of that cemetery given in "Land Between the Lakes Cemetery
Records" compiled by Judith Ann Beam, 1974.
Questions: Can I presume that James and Jane were Julia Ann's parents?
Who were their parents? Who was John Cochran?

looking for information about possible gravesites for my
ggg-grandmother, Mary Terry Anderson, wife of Vincent Anderson,
and Vincent's mother, my gggg-grandmother Sarah Carney Anderson.
Vincent, his wife andhis mother lived in Caldwell Co. from about
1809 to about 1819;an application for a pension by Sarah Carney
Anderson is on record in Caldwell Co. In 1819 Vincent and his
5 sons moved to Graves Co but there is no record of either Mary
or Sarah ever being in Graves Co. Thus I presume that both died
during the 10 years Vincent spent in Caldwell Co (Livingston
before Caldwell was formed) and are buried somewhere in the
county.
Can anyone confirm this? Are there accessible cemetery records
for Caldwell Co? I understand that there is a great chance that
their graves have been lost, but I would like to inquire.

Silas was b. 10 Aug 1842 and Elon was b. 15 Oct 1844.
I am also trying to locate Elon's Parents, Henry and Caroline
Roberts. Elon's death notice says she was from Creigton Co,
which I don't think ther ever was a county by that name. Since
she was married in Crittenden Co. I am guessing that is what it
was suppose to be.

Your Surnames here.I am looking for information on George Tinsley 6-4-1841 and his wife Julia 4-11-1843. One of their Children Joseph Tinsley was my grandfather. They are buried in The Tinsley Cemetary that is somewhere near Princeton and Crider KY. I remember going there for 'graveyard cleaning' when I was a little girl. I visited the cemetary last summer and hope that I can again this year. I know that there is a wealth of information there. If any of this rings a bell with you, please let me know. Oh, and I remember that there was a church next to the cemetary. The pastor (when I was a child in the '50s) was Rev. James Tinsley. I don't know the name of the church.

John Miller on the May 1821 Court Records for as a surveyor in Caldwell
Co. KY and also on the 1819 Court Records as an executor of the Joseph
Miller estate. Joseph Miller's wife is listed as Elcey Miller with
children: Ebenezer T. (1800), Eliza W. (1802), Samuel K. (1804), John
E. (1807), Polley R. (1808), Josephus M. (1811), Elcy C. (1813), Nancey
L. (1816). I would like to know if my John Miller mentioned above is the
John Miller mentioned in Joseph Miller's estate transcripts. The John

documentation of marriage between Micajah Sweeney and Sarah Margaret
Sullivan. Caldwell Co. marriage book shows marriage of "Sally" Dunklin
and John McElroy in July 1809. Am sure this is Sarah as Sally was a
common nickname for Sarah and also because I have a reproduced copy of
the pre-nuptial agreement naming the Dunklin children as they were to be
provided for. Two old publications and family letters say she married a
Micajah Sweeney with no mention of John McElroy. The Dunklin family lived
in Fredonia. I'm supposing Micajah was her 3rd husband as J.McElroy died
in a few years after the marriage; possibly the 1820's time frame. Any
help providing info on the Dunklin/Sweeney marriage would be appreciated.

Caldwell County, KY on October 24, 1838. She was the dau of Simon Dunn
(b.abt. 1778 and d. abt. 1836 in Caldwell County). Simon DUNN married
Mary "Polly" A. DOBBINS on March 12, 1818 in Caldwell County. She was
the dau. of James DOBBINS. Alfred and Margaret WRIGHT had three
children: Simon T. (b. 1840), Mary M. (b. 1843) and Madison Matthew, my
direct ancestor (b. 1840). Madison Matthew WRIGHT or his son, Charlie
"El" WRIGHT, removed to Graves County, KY around 1860. I haave been
unable to find any WRIGHTS prior to Alfred WRIGHT. I would appreciate
any info on any of the above, especially the WRIGHTS, or any allied

looking for information on the Rukes Family that lived in the White
Sulphur (Spring?), KY area around 1800. I know that a Zoorbabel Rukes
and his wife Nancy moved from KY to Vigo County IN about 1820. The
Kentucky place names search I did list Cladwell County as having a number
of places using White Sulphur in their name. It may be that the place
White Sulphur (Spring?) is in a different county, but I haven't had any
luck in finding that name other than in Caldwell Co.

attended this college, where he studied Greek. He was born in 1809 in
Williamson Co., TN and married in 1839 in Stewart Co., TN. I would
assume he attended Princeton College between 1825 and 1839. He was
supposed to be a licensed and ordained minister for the Cumberland

Alcie Ray Coleman's mother was Annabelle Brown 1870-1948 daughter of
William Kemp Brown 1824-1883, son of Coleman Brown 1793-1881. Mary Agnes
Ray (Caldwell county) was my grandmother. Daughter of John Crittenden
Ray, son of William Ray, and we have nothing on these family members.
Mary Agnes Ray's mother was Mary Jane Clift and nothing is known about
this line. Probable Caldwell county area or contiguous counties. A
Kennedy or Kennady figures in this line as well.
Many of our ancestors are buried in the following cemetaries; Shady
Grove, Rowland, Government Loop - Woodlane Road unknown cemetary between
Webster and Caldwell counties, Big Hill Cemetary, and many others around
the counties mentioned. Many of our ancestors were settling around the
Tradewater river area and yes the Montgomery Creek is named after one of
them.
Any assistance in filling in our holes in the family records is greatly
appreciated. We have considerable family file information and would be
willing to share gedcom files or other forms of information to help one

(1829-1857) had two children that married ESKEWs in Caldwell
County. Mary Brook STRAWMATT (1850-1924) married C. C. ESKEW.
They had three children: Mattie, Rosie and Glenn ESKEW.
William W. STRAWMATT (1853-????) married Rosaline F. ESKEW
(1855-187?). They had one child: Thomas C. STRAWMATT. I am
trying to find out if C. C. ESKEW and Rosaline ESKEW were
brother and sister and what the "C. C." stands for.
Rosaline's parents were Wiley and Minerva (VANHOOSER) ESKEW.
According to the 1860 Census of Wilson Co., TN, Wiley and
Minerva ESKEW had a son named "Cakutus" who was born about 1851.
I am hoping C. C. and Cakutus are the same person. C. C. and
Mary Brook ESKEW lived in Brown Co., TX for a while. C. C. may
have died there because Mary Brook was listed as a widow with
her three children in the 1900 Census for Crittenden Co, KY.
Mary Brook ESKEW, her daughter Mattie and her son Glenn are
buried in the Shady Grove Cemetery, Crittenden Co., KY.

Hyatt was born June 18, 1866 in Ky but by the time he was 14 the family
had moved to Belknap, Il.. The exact date of the move is not known.
William Frank Hiett's father's name was Hugh McCracken Hiett. Hugh's
wife's maiden name was Gray and she had a sister named Vinney and Viney.
Hugh and his wife had 3 children Florence, William Frank, and Clarence.
We don't know for sure if all of the children were born in KY but we

info on the ancestors and/or siblings of
Henry Jno. MARTIN b:Aug 18, 1799 in prob TN, was in Caldwell
Co, KY bef 1820 as he married Sarah W. BUSH there in 1820. He
was a wagon maker and a Justice of the Peace in Caldwell Co.
My 2g-grandfather George W. MARTIN was born in Caldwell Co in
1835 and sometime after that the family moved to Butler Co, MO
where he died in 1856.
Though there is much data on this MARTIN in Caldwell Co
records, the search for his ancestors is complicated by the fact
that there were 2 unrelated Henry J. MARTINs in Caldwell Co at
the same period in time. The other was Henry Jackson MARTIN and
it appears they were neighbors as land records show only one
piece of property between them. For many years researchers,
of my family line, had mistaken Henry Jackson MARTIN as our
ancestor and it was only when the marriage records of both were
discovered, that the error was seen. Any help from other MARTIN
or BUSH researcher would be very appreciated.

My name is Juanita Jamison, and I'm researching the McCord, Morse, and Calvert families. The Morse and Calvert families were from Caldwell Co., Kentucky. McCord from Hopkins and Christian Co.
I recently went cemetery hopping down in Christian Co, Caldwell Co, and Hopkins County. I found Morse and McCord gravesites aplenty, but am especially interested in finding where Eliza Calvert Morse is buried, when she died, anything at all. She was born in 1844 in Caldwell County, had 6 children. Her husband was James P. Morse. She must have died before 1904, because at that time he remarried M. Helen Pool, and then he died in 1913.
Eliza'a parents were John Thomas Calvert, and her mother was Fannie Morse. Don't know what relation Fannie Morse was to James P. Aunt and nephew, maybe?
Any information welcome.
