Levin Oliver was listed in the 1786 Fauquier Co., VA tax lists and remained a taxpayer until about 1818 when he moved to Bourbon County, KY. In 1823 he moved to Caldwell County, KY where he bought a small farm on the north side of the Cumberland River. His 1830 will named his wife, his children and one grandson. Of the 8 children named in the will, 5 and their families had also moved to Caldwell and lived near him. Son Hezekiah remained in Fauquier until about 1827 when he moved his family to Maury County, TN. Son Cornelius was in Fauquier in the 1790s but was apparently in Prince Georges County, MD in 1800. He was still living in 1830 but I have nothing more on him. Some believe that son Leonard moved to Bourbon County ca 1816 then to Ohio where he and later his widow claimed bounty land based on his War of 1812 service. There is uncertainty about Leonard as another, older Leonard Oliver lived in Fauquier and also moved to Caldwell County where he lived near Levin and his children's families. I believe that the Caldwell County Leonard was not Levin's son.

Other early Olivers in Fauquier County can be seen here.
