Other Early Fauquier Olivers

1. Hezekiah Oliver (bn ??-1805) m. Rebecca (bn ??-aft 1810 Bourbon Co., KY) This man and Levin Oliver, were listed on the 1786 Fauquier Co., VA Tax lists but Hezekiah was not a taxpayer again until 1793. He was last listed in 1805, the same year a daughter was married in Fauquier with the notation that her father had died en route to KY. This daughter's marriage bond was signed by a Josiah (perhaps Josias) Oliver. In 1796, another daughter's marriage bond was signed by a Nathan Oliver. Hezekiah and Rebecca had a large family but the names of the sons are uncertain. However, a Thomas Oliver was listed as his tithable in 1801 and 1802. By 1810, Hezekiah's widow Rebecca and several his daughters and their families were living in Bourbon County, KY. I believe this man was related to other Olivers (Levin, Walter and Leonard) who moved to Caldwell County, KY but lack proof. If we could only find a descendent to test!!!!

2. A Josias/Josiah Oliver (1768 VA?-1855 VA) was a Fauquier taxpayer 1789 through at least 1850. Married Mary Morehead 1789 Fauquier. Josiah and Levin jointly leased property in Fauquier, suggesting some sort of tie. Children from his 1855 Fauquier estate settlement: 1. Reason H. Oliver m. Millicent Washington 1842 Fauquier, 2. Joel Oliver (ca 1790-?), 3. Josias Oliver (ca 1795-?) m. Linna Brooks 1829 Fauquier, 4. Charles A. Oliver (ca 1815-?), 5. James W. Oliver, 6. Elizabeth Dulin (ca 1805-?) 7. Richard T. Oliver,

3. A Comfort Oliver was a Pittsylvania Co., VA taxpayer in 1787 and 1788 with Samuel Oliver, Joseph and Thomas Oliver as tithables. A Comfort Oliver, a female, was a Fauquier County taxpayer in 1799 and 1790, with tithables of Thomas, Samuel and William in 1789, and Samuel and Joseph in 1790. Comfort was not listed again but in 1791, a Samuel Oliver with tithables of Joseph Oliver and Thomas Oliver appeared. In 1792, Samuel had only Joseph as tithable. From 1793 through 1807, Samuel was a taxpayer in Fauquier with no tithables.

3.a A Comfort Oliver, female, was a Bourbon County, KY taxpayer in 1805, 1806 and 1808. In 1806, she was joined there by a Samuel Oliver. In 1807, Thomas Oliver, Archibald Oliver and James Oliver appeared.

4. A Reason Oliver was a Fauquier taxpayer 1789 through 1796. This man was too old to be the son of the Josias/Josiah who died ca 1855 (see #2 above).

5. A John Oliver was a Fauquier taxpayer 1789 through 1803 and 1817 through 1818.
