What is the CSA?

The Ciphergram Solution Assistant ( CSA) solves, or nearly solves, ciphergrams like those in some newspapers, which are called cryptoquotes.

The CSA provides three windows. The topmost is for the ciphertext message to be deciphered (without the attribution, which is the ciphertext author's name or other credit). The next window down is for the attribution. The third window is for telling the CSA how to decipher certain letters; the contents are called the initial key. You should initially leave this empty.

The CSA displays results in the browser, soon after you click the Solve button.
